Server Technology, voted by our employees 1st Place Best Places to Work, is looking for an experienced Electro Mechanical Inspector. 

The Electro Mechanical Inspector is responsible for performing inspection on mechanical and electrical components and assemblies. This includes inspection of first article and receiving inspection to ensure quality levels conform to all appropriate standards and requirements.

What you will do:

  • Read and interpret orthographic drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Effectively use mechanical measurement equipment and tooling.
  • Define printed circuit board product classifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Define soldering criteria, including lead-free connections, fillet criteria, cleanliness, and failure modes per IPC 610.
  • Understand and apply inspection and testing techniques and sampling plans.
  • Define statistical techniques, including basic elements of design of experiments (DOE) and reliability.
  • Understand and apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
  • Create quality records, Sample Inspection Reports, instructions and procedures in conjunction with appropriate personnel.
  • Perform quality audits of various types with minimal supervision. Participate in both internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to enact improvement and meet commitments.
  • Promote a positive attitude, positive relations, and a sense of urgency with coworkers.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with emphasis in electro mechanical studies or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production assembly and /or test validation.
  • Ability to read and interpret orthographic drawings.
  • Familiar with mechanical measurement equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to understand and apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify possible failure trends.
  • Responsible for following all job and department related procedures and work instructions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups.
  • Ability to resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Read and understand BOMS, Wiring and Layout diagrams for use in product build verification.
